It's always convenient to buy ready-made almond milk, but the downside of this is that it's really expensive and at times contains tons of preservatives too. So it's time to skip buying these store-bought packs and start making our very own almond milk at home in less than 10 minutes!

Ingredients

1 cup almonds (soaked and peeled)

4-5 cups water (you can alter the amount based on the thickness you want)

1 tsp vanilla extract (optional)

2-3 dates (optional)

A pinch of salt (optional)

Directions

-Add all the ingredients to a blender or food processor.

-Blend it on high speed for 2-3 minutes to ensure that all the bits of almonds have been processed and you have attained a creamy texture.

-Strain the mixture using a thin milk/muslin cloth. Make sure to squeeze out all the milk from the remaining pulp.

-Now, you can adjust the consistency of the milk.

-Transfer the prepared milk into a covered jar/bottle. You can store it for 2-3 days in the refrigerator and make sure to give it a good shake before consuming it.

You could use this milk to make all your favorite coffee recipes, be it lattes, mochas or cappuccinos! You could even use this milk to make milkshakes, cold coffee, frappes or ice cream.

Pro Tips

Please do not discard the almond pulp residue. You could use it to make gluten-free biscuits, crackers or other baked goodies.
