This World Gin Day, we're celebrating with these 5 gin and coffee cocktails to get us through the weekend. If you want a post-dinner pick-me-up and your regular cappuccino just isn't enough, try a Gin espresso martini or a Spiked coffee tonic.

Before you start preparing your coffee cocktails, you're going to need to make your own espresso for each of these recipes. 

To make one part of espresso here's what you need to do:

Take 1 tbsp of Country Bean Original coffee and 1/2 cup water.

Mix the coffee well till it dissolves.

Your espresso is ready!

For all the coffee and gin lovers in the house, these cocktails are a MUST TRY!

1. Gin Espresso Martini 

A twist to the iconic cocktail, commonly known as a Ginspresso Martini, this one's an absolute favourite.

Ingredients 

1 part espresso

1 part gin

1 part vodka

1/2 part dry vermouth

Dash of orange bitters

Orange twist to garnish

Method

Combine all the ingredients in an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake well till you find a layer of 'crema' which is the foam that is formed over espresso. Strain it into a chilled cocktail glass. Garnish your martini with coffee beans, flavoured coffee or an orange twist. 

2. Coffee Gin and Tonic

For a punchy drink, try mixing coffee with your classic gin and tonic.

Ingredients

35 ml gin

10 ml espresso, chilled

Tonic water

Lemon twist, to garnish

Method

Pour your gin over an ice-filled glass. Top it up with tonic water. Pour the chilled espresso over it. Garnish your drink with a lemon twist. 

3. Spiked Coffee Tonic Recipe

This one's just like your regular coffee tonic, but with an infusion of brown sugar syrup and gin. 

Ingredients 

30 ml gin

45 ml espresso

60 ml tonic water

15 ml brown sugar syrup

Lemon slice, to garnish

Method

Combine all ingredients in a Highball glass over ice. Stir for approximately 20 seconds to chill and combine ingredients. Garnish with a lemon slice. 

4. Tropical Summer Espresso G&T

This one's a summer cocktail which requires minimal ingredients but is absolutely refreshing.

Ingredients

Ice cubes

Freshly squeezed orange juice

30 ml gin

Tonic water

1 part of espresso using Country Bean Caramel coffee

Sugar syrup to taste

Orange slice to garnish

Method

In a glass, pour freshly squeezed orange juice over ice. Add your gin and top it off with the tonic water. Add your espresso to the drink. Garnish with an orange slice.

5. Coffee Negroni

The ideal nightcap to wrap up your day and before you head to bed is a Coffee Negroni. 

Ingredients

1 part gin

1 part sweet vermouth

1 part Campari

1/2 part espresso

Orange peel, to garnish

Method

Fill two glasses with ice. In one glass, mix equal parts gin, Campari and sweet vermouth; stir to chill. In the other glass, pour a shot of espresso; stir to chill. Strain the liquor and pour into a third empty glass. Add strained, chilled espresso to the liquor. Squeeze orange peel over the glass, wipe it around the rim, and add to the cocktail.
